Join this channel to get access to perks:    / @newsstation   Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw visited the state-of-the-art track slab manufacturing facility at Kim, near Surat, integral to India’s ambitious Bullet Train project. This facility, one of the largest in the world, produces high-quality track slabs using advanced Japanese Shinkansen technology, essential for the stability and performance of the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail (MAHSR) corridor. Minister Vaishnaw highlighted the critical role of the track slabs, which will directly support the rails without separate sleepers, ensuring precise alignment and durability. The factory spans 19 acres, with 7 acres dedicated to production, and is capable of manufacturing 120 slabs daily. Each pre-cast slab weighs 3.9 tons and measures 2.2 meters wide by 4.9 meters long. The factory will produce 96,000 J-slabs for the 237 km track in Gujarat and Dadra Nagar Haveli. As of now, 9,775 slabs have been cast, and production is ongoing.
