Silver Swan Rag by Scott Joplin
“Silver Swan Rag” (1914/1971) is a heartfelt and harmonic piece. I’m sharing a new version as I wanted to play it smoother, with more feelings, and a little bit faster. The melody is absolutely beautiful, and I love this rag's wistful and reflective nature. “Silver Swan Rag" was not copyrighted or published in Joplin's lifetime. This rag was discovered by Richard Zimmerman in 1971 from a lost piano roll; it is the only known Joplin composition to be released on a piano roll and not through formal musical notation. Joplin wrote this piece during his final moments and you can certainly feel his sadness behind every note. #piano #pianocover #pianomusic #ragtimepiano #ragtime #scottjoplin #scottjoplinpiano
