Triumph Roadster Restoration Part 5: Chrome Polished & Oil Changed
Part five of the series documenting the restoration of my 1947 Triumph Roadster (TRD655). In Part four, the ignition was again pondered, and, after spending many an hour replacing numerous different parts of it, a spark was finally emitted (despite the best efforts of the Prince of Darkness). In this episode, I get polishing and buff up the chrome until it's so shiny one can see the Queen's face in it. I also replace the oil in the engine and drain what's left of it out of the gearbox. Sadly the possum seems to have departed the garage of late, but I am hopeful that he will make a return in one capacity or another. If you're interested, the polishing was done using 0000 grade wire wool (which is sometimes used for French polishing) and Autosol Chrom Glans (which everyone seems obsessed with these days). Obviously I'm not sponsored by any of the above....alternatives are available. Watch part one here: • Triumph Roadster Restoration Part 1: Takin...
