The Word of God Comforts and Confronts (Revelation 10)

Revelation 10 is an intro before the 7th trumpet, reminding us that God’s plan is moving forward with purpose and certainty—there will be no ultimate delay. John sees a mighty angel declaring God’s sovereign authority over all creation, hears mysteries he’s told to seal, and then receives a striking command: take the little scroll and eat it. The Word is sweet like honey, yet bitter in the stomach—because Scripture both comforts and confronts, bringing joy and hope while also carrying the weight of hard truth and costly witness. Recommissioned to prophesy again, John models the church’s calling to internalize God’s message and proclaim it faithfully to the nations until the end.
