Éjection en vol : témoignages de pilotes sauvés par un siège éjectable

How does an ejection seat work? What happens during an in-flight ejection? And how do these systems save lives? In this video, I take you to the National Library of France for an exceptional ceremony organized by Safran Martin-Baker: the presentation of ties to pilots who have ejected. During this event, I was able to gather exclusive testimonies from pilots and crew members who survived crashes and in-flight ejections. Powerful, sometimes heartbreaking, accounts that describe those crucial moments when everything changes… and the ejection seat becomes their last resort. They recount the decision to eject, the sequence of events during the ejection process, and their survival after landing. Finally, thanks to the interview with the director of Safran Martin-Baker, this video provides a better understanding of how an ejection seat works, the different phases of the sequence (pulling the handle, ejection, separation, parachute deployment), as well as the extreme sensations experienced by pilots.
