Today on Viação Cipó, we're in Cipotânea, the capital of Minas Gerais's loofah. We'll explore the main tourist attractions, history, and culture of this city steeped in tradition. I started at the Culture House and Museum, where we delved into the region's past. Father Rogério told us about the emancipation of the city and recalled memorable stories he experienced in the city. Afterward, I continued to a loofah plantation and spoke with producer Taninho Pereira, who explained how this crop began and its importance to the local economy. I also visited the iron bridge over the Xopotó River and chatted with Mayor Roberto Henrique about tourism and the city's development. I learned about the Congado tradition with Vanderlei Ingrácio, Messias Roberto, and Gleiciane das Dores, who keep this cultural expression alive. I also visited the São Caetano Parish Church, where Father Adelson Clemente welcomed us with open arms. And of course, I stopped by the Casarão Bar and Grocery Store, which has been in operation since 1916, to chat with owner Renato Assis about the history of this heritage site. Meanwhile, Arthur visited the Cipotânea Artisans' Association, where Maria Eterna and Santa Nascimento talked about handcrafting corn husks and the preservation of this tradition. He also visited Arthur's Waterfall, one of the town's natural refuges. Arthur showed us around Fazenda Paraíso, where our team was staying. There, he spoke with Joaquim da Semente about the history and artistic expressions of the place. He also met the town's band, in a chat with José Neri. And of course, we couldn't miss meeting journalist Thiago Reis, a fellow Cipotânea native, who shared some great stories with us. And to finish with a delicious finale, Chef Gélio Júnior prepared Stuffed Lizard at Fazenda Paraíso, accompanied by a delicious yellow plum sauce.
