BELO HORIZONTE: a DESPEDIDA do BOLÃO no bairro SANTA TEREZA! | A Viação Cipó te conta tudo!

In today's Viação Cipó episode, we're in Belo Horizonte, the capital of Minas Gerais, to visit a private ecological reserve. We'll also cover the closing of the traditional Bar do Bolão in the Santa Tereza neighborhood. We begin the program at Sítio Ipê Amarelo, where we talk with Ana Cecília and her mother, Maria de Lourdes, who tell us the history of the place. Cece also presented the "Trilhas da Reserva" (Reserve Trails) project, an environmental education program that connects children and young people to nature. We accompany a school group on a visit, talk with teachers and students about the experience, and even visit a meliponary of Brazilian bees. It was there that I tasted honey directly from the hive. Afterwards, we head to the Santa Tereza neighborhood to say goodbye to Bar do Bolão, which is closing its doors after 64 years. We talk to waiters and regulars who grew up in this beloved space, and also with Luiz Rocha, the current owner, who explained the reasons for the closure. My old friend Paulinho Pedra Azul was with us for this farewell. We talked about his history and journey, and he even sang a beautiful song to mark the moment. We had our last meal at the bar and chatted with historian Luís Goés, a specialist in the history of the neighborhood. To conclude, we revisited a 2006 report where we spoke with Bolão himself. In that report, Dona Ana taught us how to prepare Bolão's traditional spaghetti bolognese!
