Domestic chip production is not only a technological issue in the modern world, but also one of the most critical strategic elements for a country's economic independence and national security. Domestic chip production provides: Backdoor Risk Prevention: Prevents hidden tracking or system disabling codes that may be found in foreign-made chips. Embargo Immunity: Prevents disruptions to defense projects (such as UAVs, UCAVs, and national aircraft) during political crises. Confidentiality: Complete control is maintained over the design of equipment where critical military data is processed. The "global chip crisis" experienced during the pandemic showed how risky it is to rely on a few Far Eastern countries (such as Taiwan and South Korea) for production. Domestic production: Prevents the shutdown of production lines in major sectors such as automotive and white goods. Ensures the continuity of local industry without being affected by global logistics crises. Situation in Türkiye Turkey is taking significant steps in this field, particularly with facilities under Yongatek, TÜBİTAK BİLGEM, and ASELSAN (for example, the ÇAKIL project and GaN-based chip studies).
