Kinjo Gakuin University, along with Sugiyama Jogakuen University and Aichi Shukutoku University, was once considered one of the "Big Three" women's universities in Aichi Prefecture. On the morning of the 29th, the operating corporation of Kinjo Gakuin University revealed that it will become part of the private Nagoya Gakuin University group in 2028, and is considering becoming coeducational by 2029. This has surprised many alumni. One woman who spent her time at Kinjo Gakuin from junior high school through graduate school expressed concern that the unique charm of a "women's university" might be lost.
