Solemn Dedication of the Scalan Altar Carfin

The Solemn Dedication of the New Scalan Altar Carfin On Sunday 6th October, members of the Scalan Association attended a most moving Liturgy of a solemn dedication of a new Altar and Mass celebrated by Bishop Toal in Carfin Grotto. The Altar was the dream of Fr Michael Briody President of Scalan who thought that there should be something in Carfin Grotto to mark the legacy of the native Scots Catholics who suffered hardships in the highlands during the Penal years.
