North Norfolk Railway '50th Anniversary Steam Gala' 2025

North Norfolk Railway '50th Anniversary Steam Gala' 2025. All footage filmed on Friday 29th August 2025. Following on from the 'Festival on Rails', the North Norfolk Railway held their '50th Anniversary Steam Gala' over the weekend of 29th - 31st August with a total of seven engines in steam. Initially the event was due to feature Peckett "Ashington No.5", but the loco had only recently returned to steam and was therefore not ready to move down to Norfolk in time. Therefore the roster was drawn from the operational locomotives from the railway's fleet alongside summer visitor 6880 "Betton Grange". Another interesting locomotive running at the event was Hunslet No. 1589 "Newstead", which had only been recently returned to service after being found in a convent. An intensive timetable was put on for the gala with double-headers, non-stop runs, branch line trains & a recreation of the first train in 1975 comprising of three suburban coaches and a SR brakevan. I visited on the Friday of the event which proved to be quite wet, nevertheless I still managed to capture footage of all the locos in operation except 4277 "Hercules".
