Every Fix Creates Another Problem Startup VLog 2026WW27.3 (PA21)

Today was another day on the first wall mounted (Wally) prototype kitchen rack. The goal sounded simple: finish the fit-up, check the structural integrity, and assemble everything. Reality had other plans. Getting all 36 holes, pins, beams, and brackets to line up while keeping everything square and coplanar turned into another lesson in prototype building. Every adjustment solved one problem while exposing the next. It's always something. Today's biggest takeaway wasn't welding—it was realizing the assembly process still needs work. The next revision will likely change the drilling sequence and assembly order to reduce tolerance stack-up before anything ever gets welded. Tomorrow's experiment is trying a smaller TIG cup and adjusting the argon pre-flow to see if I can improve the welds inside the deep recesses without cooking the surrounding wood. Though I hear white oak smoke makes for good BBQ! Every prototype teaches something. Architects, interior designers, kitchen designers, and design-build contractors in the Portland area: I'd love to connect. https://supernovadesigncompany.com/   / supernovadesigncompany     / supernova-design-company-llc-589332038425339     / jessestanchfield   Google Reviews: https://g.page/r/Cf_E4dwIjahhEBM/review Contact: [email protected] #PDX #DesignBuild #Prototype #CustomWoodworking #Handmade #ProductDevelopment
