The Kamianets Correctional Colony in Zaporizhzhia was restructured in 2023 specifically for those convicted of collaboration and state treason. Previously, those convicted of criminal offenses served their sentences here. Currently, 293 Ukrainians who collaborated with the Russians are serving their sentences here. Three of them spoke with hromadske. Hennadiy Paraskevych worked as a doctor at a military hospital in Zaporizhzhia and passed lists of Ukrainian soldiers and their injuries to a friend in Tokmak. That person, in turn, passed them to the Russians. "With these lists, a lot can be determined. The nature of the diseases, injuries, and the place they were received," Paraskevych explains. Paraskevych, convicted of aiding the aggressor state for 15 years, has written a request for a prisoner exchange. Another doctor, Volodymyr Vybornyi, was also an assistant to former People's Deputy from the "Party of Regions" Volodymyr Sivkovych, who is charged with state treason. In 2017, Vybornyi moved to Russia, where he communicated with FSB representatives. He passed on information about "Hizb ut-Tahrir" and "Azov". Later, he moved to Egypt, and during the invasion, returned to Ukraine to gather data for the Russians and recruited another Ukrainian. A few days after crossing the border, he was detained by the SBU. Oleh Bilyaiev, a resident of Odesa, was convicted of aiding Russia, collaboration, and kidnapping. He was actively involved in pro-Russian rallies in Odesa. According to the prosecution, he was a member of a group that gathered information on the locations of Ukrainian military equipment, checkpoints, critical infrastructure objects, and both civilian and military sites in Odesa. "Of course, I feel sorry for Odesa," he responds when asked if he regrets that Russian missiles are hitting his city. "I feel sorry for Vinnytsia. I feel sorry for Kyiv. I feel sorry for any Ukrainian city, as the same people live there as I do. The same children. But I fully understand that Russia was provoked." According to the prosecution, the group he was a part of had developed a plan to kidnap a local businessman who did not support Russia. In addition, in August 2022, they hung an RF flag on a building in Odesa with the inscription in Russian: "Odesa is a Russian city."
