2026, July 4 | Riverview Bridge Construction Update | North & South Approaches

Drone construction update from the Riverview Bridge area between New Westminster and Surrey, BC. In this video, we take a closer look at the current progress on the north and south approaches to the Riverview Bridge, including road connections, ramps, multi-use paths, sidewalks, and active construction zones around the bridge. The Riverview Bridge is now open to traffic. According to the official Pattullo Bridge Replacement Project page, people travelling from New Westminster can access the bridge via McBride Boulevard and the new Royal Avenue on-ramp, while people travelling from Surrey can access it from King George Boulevard and Scott Road. The project page also notes that the new Columbia Street on-ramp in New Westminster and the new Highway 17 off-ramp in Surrey are planned to open in summer 2026, after portions of the old Pattullo Bridge are removed. This update focuses on what is still changing around the bridge: the north approach in New Westminster, the south approach in Surrey, multi-use path connections, sidewalks, approach embankments, and the future ramp connections that will complete the surrounding network.
