The monsoon front is forming an arch to the north near Korea. The North Pacific High is pushing the monsoon front northward from the south, while the Okhotsk Sea High is pushing it southward, causing the front to swell significantly. Far to the south, Typhoon No. 12 Noeul is passing through the Bashi Channel and entering the South China Sea. The typhoon is further developing and heading toward the vicinity of Hong Kong in southern China. It appears that this summer will be prolonged.
