Traditions Hawken First Shots, X RING Right Out Of The Box!!

➽ ➽ Support the channel - nmlra.org/join ➽ ➽ We're back on the Range today, spring has sprung and so has the smell of black powder in the air. After spending all winter assembling this Traditions Hawken with accompanying pouch and horn, NMLRA Field Agent Ethan is ready to take some shots. In this video, Ethan goes over range safety basics, the Traditions recommended loads, basic shooting discipline, and target shooting basics. It's not all serious though, once we get through the procedure things pick up as Ethan sends lead down range, surprising himself at how accurate this kit can be. Future videos will cover taking this Traditions St. Louis Hawken 50 cal muzzleloader through one of the NMLRA Woods Walk courses as well as giving an "After shoot" review of the kit as a whole. For more information on the muzzle loader we are using in this video and the equipment used to support it, check out our "What's in my bag" series. ➽ ➽ Muzzle Loading & Living History Books, Merch, and More - nmlra.org/store Watch us build this Muzzleloader - [   • Let's Build a Traditions St. Louis Hawken ...  ] Make your own Powder Horn - [   • How to make a simple powder horn | DIY bla...  ] Make your own Possibles/ Hunting Pouch - [   • How to make a "Hawken Era" Muzzleloading P...  ] Cast your own Roundballs - [   • Video  ] Click here to SUBSCRIBE - http://bit.ly/NMLRAYT Time Stamps: 0:00 Target Set up 0:21 About the Range 0:56 The 25 Yard Line 1:51 Starting Loads 2:36 Clearing the chamber 3:00 Capper Safety 3:19 Drum Safety 3:55 Hearing Protection 4:05 Popping Cap #1 5:04 Popping Cap #2 5:07 Loading our Hawken 8:21 First Shot 9:38 Loading Close Up 11:00 Shot 2 11:24 Shot 3 12:36 Shot 4, the bad shot 12:48 Removing Cap Debris 13:36 Shot 5 13:53 Target Recap 14:10 Short Review The NMLRA exists to promote, support, nurture, and preserve our nation’s rich historical heritage in the sport of muzzleloading through recreational, educational, and historical venues.
