Here I'll demonstrate a lovely, easy technique to paint a rocky shoreline in watercolour, with a beautiful summer sky and tide pools with sky reflections. Equipment list: today I'm using Saunders Waterford watercolour paper, hot press (HP), size a quarter of an imperial sheet, 100% cotton, weight 140lb. My colours are: sky blue, Payne's grey, ultramarine, raw sienna, and raw umber. All these paints (except for the sky blue) are Winsor & Newton Cotman colours. The sky blue is one of my own hand made paints from the Davidson's Pigments range, which we plan to make available in the next collection - which will be roughly 4 weeks from today!
