Part 7 From Kyrgyzstan, we continue through the vast eastern part of Kazakhstan. The city of Almaty, the magnificent Charyn Canyons, and the Altyn Emel National Park with its otherworldly nature and mountains. Before entering Russia, we meet Tamilan and Kymbat, a young entrepreneurial couple, in Semei. We experience another dimension of vastness in Siberia, along the route from Barnaul, through Kamerov, and Krasnoyarsk to Irkutsk, before finally reaching Olkhon Island in Lake Baikal. This destination made the long journey worthwhile. Enjoy the video! We, Martina and Hans Peter, set off with our campervan, Paul, and our stray dog, Lupo. We're roughly following the Silk Road towards Central Asia, via the Pamir Highway, with our destination: Mongolia! The journey will likely cover around 30,000 kilometers, with a travel time of approximately 1 to 1.5 years. Here's a brief overview of the entire route: Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Greece, Turkey, Georgia, Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan. To reach Mongolia, we plan to travel from Kyrgyzstan through northern Kazakhstan and Russia, then continue in a wide arc through Siberia, ultimately reaching Lake Baikal.
