Healing music - Schubert - Fantasia in C for violin and piano

Franz Schubert completed his Fantasia ("Fantasy") in C for violin and piano in december 1827, less than a year before his death. The piece was published posthumously in 1850 as D.934. At 26 minutes, it is one of the longest single pieces Schubert ever wrote. It is full of the fiery romantic emotions which characterize much of the 19th century classical music. This excellent, full-blooded performance by Jaime Laredo and Stephanie Brown beautifully conveys this romantic atmosphere. Mesmerizing music with many moments than can leave you breathless.
