At this week’s 10:45am Connect, Create and Celebrate service, Jack and Rachel explored Jesus’ invitation: “Come to me, all of you who are weary and overburdened, and I will give you rest.” Through an all-age talk and activity, they reflected on the difference between knowing about God and knowing God, the trust shown in the story of Rebecca, and the burdens people of all ages carry — from school and work to loneliness, illness, anxiety and family responsibilities. The message was simple and reassuring: Jesus does not ask us to come only when we have everything sorted out. He invites us to come as we are, and to walk with him so that we do not carry everything alone.
