What 67 Days in the North Actually Taught Me
How do you explain a place that refuses to be captured? After 67 days in the Far North, I realized that the more I tried to document the wilderness, the further I drifted from the truth of it. This film is the story of what happens when you finally stop being a spectator and start belonging to the landscape. From the dust of the Dempster Highway to the silence of the Arctic Ocean, this is not a standard road trip documentary. It is a cinematic meditation on the visceral weight of the North, a record of how 14,000 km of rugged backcountry travel through British Columbia, the Yukon, the Northwest Territory and Alaska eventually gets inside you and resets your compass forever. In this video, we explore: The Failure of the Lens: Why some experiences are "hopelessly incomplete" when viewed through a camera. The Indifference of Nature: Learning to trade the "demand for ease" for a sense of beautiful insignificance. The Sensory North: The smell of the tundra, the violence of the wind, and the weight of the silence. The Internal Shift: How standing at the edge of the world changes your perspective on what actually matters. If you have travelled the Dempster or explored the remote corners of the Yukon and NWT, I’d love to hear about the moment your own perspective shifted. Share your story in the comments.
