What We Found at the Edge of the Map: Uncharted Territory!” - EP3
Join us in this episode as we travel through the magnificent Northern Rockies in British Columbia and push north of Whitehorse Yukon, experiencing a thrilling overlanding adventure that includes remote camping, river fishing, and landscape photography on our way toward the Arctic Ocean. Follow our entire journey north through British Columbia, the Yukon, Northwest Territories, and Alaska during this epic sixty seven day and fourteen thousand kilometer road trip across the summer and fall seasons. This series is a key part of The Great Northern Project, a monumental overlanding expedition that spans from the forty ninth parallel at the Canada United States border all the way up to the sixty ninth parallel at the very end of the Dempster Highway in Tuktoyaktuk Northwest Territories. From that arctic coast we then head down to the remote corners of Southeast Alaska to reach the wild waters of the North Pacific Ocean. After four full years of meticulous planning and months of vehicle preparation, we spent ten weeks on the road capturing some of the most breathtaking mountain scenery in North America while camping in remote and wild locations. Along the way we successfully explored over one hundred and fifty fishable rivers and streams that were easily accessible right from the main highways and gravel backroads. We trace the historic Klondike Gold Rush route, discovering incredible places for wild camping, photography, and unique backcountry vacation rental locations. As a professional commercial architectural photographer, I also share my unique perspective and high quality shots of stunning rental properties found along the journey. Leave a comment if you have ever driven through the Northern Rockies or share which part of this massive northern overland route you would love to tackle first. #CaptureReelAdventure #Overlanding #NorthernRockies #YukonRoadTrip #ArcticOcean SOCIAL MEDIA LINKS Website https://www.carstenarnold.com/fine-art Facebook / capturereeladventure SPONSORS Pacific Rivers Outfitting Company 45530 Vedder Mountain Road Chilliwack, BC, Canada 1-778-704-1481 https://www.pacificrivers.com/ / pacificriversoutfittingco Loop Tackle https://ca.looptackle.com/ / looptackle Photo Central 957 Portage Avenue Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada 1-204-774-4343 https://photocentral.ca/ / photocentralfotosource CLIENTS PHOTOGRAPHED ON THE GREAT NORTHERN PROJECT Episode 3 Nugget City Mile 650, Alaska Hwy, Watson Lake, Yukon (867) 536-2307 https://nuggetcity.com/ BBQ BEER BREAD (As shown in this video) Place wire rack over bbq grille to prevent bread burning Place tin foil under the wire rack for further burn protection Preheat bbq to 375 degrees In a large bowl mix together: 2 1/2 cups bread flour (or 50/50 of white and whole wheat bread flour) 3tsp baking powder 1 tsp salt 2tbsp sugar Mix well Add 1 bottle or can of your favourite beer Optional: add 1 cup each of your favourite seeds Mix with a spatula Add 1 tbsp oil and water if the batter is too dry Butter a bread pan well to prevent the bread from sticking when done Melt butter and baste the top of the dough Bake for 50-60 minutes Let stand to cool before devouring 0:00 - INTRO 0:37 - SIKANNI RIVER 3:58 - FORT NELSON MUSEUM 4:16 - NORTHWEST TERRITORIES 9:56 - TETSA RIVER 12:14 - NORTHERN ROCKIES 13:26 - TOAD RIVER 16:13 - MUNCHO LAKE AREA 18:53 - SMITH RIVER 20:28 - THE YUKON 21:01 - NUGGET CITY 24:17 - SIGNPOST FOREST 25:27 - CAMPBELL HIGHWAY 25:49 - SUMMIT LAKE 32:07 - TUICHITUA RIVER 34:26 - FINLAYSON RIVER 35:43 - ROSS RIVER 36:19 - LAPIE CANYON 39:18 - FARO 41:41 - CARMACKS 43:16 - WHITEHORSE 51:03 - BROTHER PICKUP 54:19 - MILES CANYON 55:33 - ARCTIC BOUND 57:17 - YUKON WILDLIFE PRESERVE 1:01:56 - PELLY CROSSING
