Berg- und Talfahrten + ICE-T-Schwemme in Fuldatal-Ihringshausen

Things get quite chaotic at Fuldatal-Ihringshausen station. It's bordered by two flyovers where the Göttingen–Kassel high-speed line and the Hanoverian Southern Railway diverge. During the day, practically only long-distance trains run on the high-speed line. However, I did manage to document one exception during my visit: a track inspection train heading towards Göttingen. On the Hanoverian Southern Railway, there are quite a few local and freight trains. I had even hoped to see a few more of the latter, as the Eichenberg–Bebra line was closed at the time. The Hanoverian Southern Railway used to be a direct connection from Hanover via Göttingen to Kassel. However, it no longer exists between Göttingen and Hann. Münden. So, the route from Kassel goes via Hann. Münden to Eichenberg – and from there, if necessary, on to Göttingen. In Fuldatal-Ihringshausen, you can see the RB 83 regional train to Göttingen (sometimes only to Eichenberg) operated by Cantus, as well as the RE 8 and RE 9 regional express trains, which run between Kassel and Halle (operated by Abellio). The regional express trains, however, pass through smoothly. I also take a quick look at the signals and points – and at the planned Kassel curve.
