Developing pest resistant and climate resilient rootstocks
Rootstocks are a key management tool for increasing vineyard performance. They can safeguard wine grape varieties from soil-borne pests and provide tolerance to abiotic stress. However, most commercial rootstocks available for production are not optimized for Australian conditions and lack long-term pest resistance. This webinar discusses how the CSIRO Rootstock Breeding Team is developing new rootstocks which have durable resistance to soil pests and are adapted to a changing Australian climate.
