The term “amika” not only refers to the podcast's followers, but also symbolizes a feeling and a way of being, similar to a supportive human community. Their approachable, fun, and honest style made Amikas a pioneering women's streaming community in Chile, bringing together thousands of followers who found in this space a perfect blend of entertainment, conversation, and emotional support. Over the years, the project has expanded with spin-offs such as Amikas' Beauty Clinic, Amikas Fan Club (the experience of going to the movies with your friends), and Amikas' Book Club, in addition to the books Amikas' Guide to Life and Amikas' Activity Book. All under the same essence: the camaraderie and authenticity among friends, without taboo topics and with plenty of humor. Today, Amikas is experiencing a new phase with revamped programming and a broader live chat format, solidifying its position as a leading women's streaming platform and pop culture resource in Chile. María José Castro Faúndez, also known as Lady Ganga, is a journalist, shopping blogger, and podcast host. In 2011, the editor of a supplement for Revista M discovered Castro through the deals she posted on social media and invited her to write a column of tips. This is how the Lady Ganga persona was born, with which she continues to create content online. She is married to journalist and podcaster Nicolás Copano of Copano News. María José Castro has written three books: The Functional Adult Handbook, Things I Would Have Liked to Know Before 30, and The Amikas' Guide to Life, co-authored with Valeria Luna Carcamo Salas. Valeria Luna worked as a producer and social media manager at Rock & Pop radio. Later, she worked at digital agencies and developed a successful "beauty blogger" persona, becoming a leading voice on social media. This success led her to co-author "Skincare for Beginners" with Planeta Publishing. Her creativity also allowed her to explore other genres, such as fiction, with her book of short stories, "Horror." The Amikas project has also been recognized for its genuine and direct connection with its audience, offering a space where topics are chosen based on shared interests and audience interaction. Furthermore, the project has evolved into a company with a diverse team, including content production, audiovisual, and sales.
