4.1 Immunoglobulin Structure (Immunology 2025)
Antibodies and B cell receptors (BCRs) share a common structure built from heavy and light chains, which themselves contain variable and constant regions. In this video, we cover the basics of immunoglobulin architecture and how membrane-bound BCRs compare to secreted antibodies, including how both are structurally organized to recognize antigens and promote antimicrobial host defense. This video series is part of an Immunology course offered by Rutgers University in Fall 2025. Some figures were made in Biorender.
