What my first few years of working in Singapore taught me

In this video, I share my journey in my first few years as a working adult in Singapore Like many working Singaporeans, I have worried about job security, faced intense competition in a global job market, questioned whether I was good enough, and experienced the uncertainty that comes with a rapidly changing economy. I have navigated setbacks, periods of self-doubt, and one of the most difficult experiences of my life: losing a beloved family member at a young age. These experiences shaped how I think about work, family, resilience, and the everyday challenges that many Singaporeans face as they try to build a stable life. 0:00 Introduction 2:03 Adjusting to the reality of a 9-6 job as a fresh grad 3:20 Losing my Ah ma in my first year of work 7:09 How I decided on my career path in SaaS sales 10:56 Feeling discouraged at work and seeing FIRE as the way out 15:05 How my amazing father supported my career 16:39 Meeting the first manager I really liked If you are navigating career uncertainty, coping with loss, supporting your loved ones, or simply trying to build a meaningful life in Singapore, I hope you find something in this story that resonates with you.
