Woodstown Central 9: Fast Freight on the Salem Branch
On Sunday September 21, 2025, the Friends of Philadelphia Trolleys hosted a photo charter at the Woodstown Central railroad. One of the stars for the show was Ex-US Army 0-6-0 #9. 9 would be tasked to pull a freight train for the charter. And for an 0-6-0 she put on a fine show pulling the fast freight of the salem branch! With freshly painted cars, the freight consist and 9 looked right out of the 20th century. The Woodstown Central Railroad does a fantastic job at helping to preserve railroad history in South Jersey and we look forward to what the future brings with this operation!
