🚴‍♀️The choice of this randonnee wasn't accidental. I'd already done it and it was a wonderful experience. Everything was superbly organized by Sergio Antolini and the Ravonese team. ⛰️The route starts from San Lazzaro di Savena on the town bike path at 3 PM on April 18th, in a scorching heat that's too intense for this time of year. Only those who love this sport would undertake such an adventure. 🧭The first part is weepy until the first checkpoint, and with a slightly more comfortable temperature, it flows smoothly. At Castel dell'Alpi, we notice the sun is slowly setting. And midnight surprises us in Comacchio. At night, everything changes, everything falls silent, and the surroundings take on different guises. The lights become soft and warm. 🌊Lido di Spina arrives slowly and silently. Only the scent of the sea lets me know we're on the beach. Here the road stops for a moment. A moment's respite from the pedals and after a quick refreshment stop, we're back on the road. 🥱The night brings everything back to its place. Without a word, groups form. We stay together. 🎶The Lamone Valley is a bit exhausting due to its length, and Marradi slowly arrives. ☀️Finally, dawn reaches us in Brsighella, a village in Romagna, where a bar in the square serves as a wake-up call with a double cappuccino and a hot pastry. Just what we needed! With dawn, everything becomes a little easier and we breathe a sigh of relief. ⛰️ The last climb is the Passo del Carnevale. The climb is long, but not very long, the fatigue is noticeable, and the descent towards Palazzuolo sul Senio is quick. So we arrive in Piazza Strigelli and under the arch of the Palazzo dei Capitani (once owned by the powerful Ubaldini family), a final check and refreshments await us. 🥶The guys at the checkpoint are tired and cold but always smiling and kind.
