This technique is very useful for those of us who have a large difference in waist and hip circumference. If we adjust the waist the traditional way (using the back seams), the pants might not fit, as they wouldn't fit past the hips. Plus, if for any reason we need to return to the original size, it can be done without any difficulty, simply by removing the elastic band. I hope you like it!
