Revolutionising mental health through the arts with Professor Daisy Fancourt | Public Health Voices

In this webinar we welcome Professor Daisy Fancourt, Director of the World Health Organisation Collaborating Centre on Arts and Health. As a society, we are facing unprecedented mental health challenges, and it is widely accepted that our current mental health systems are insufficient to tackle the demand. This presentation will explore the evidence base on how the arts can support in the treatment of mental illness and help to reduce the incidence and prevalence of mental health conditions. It will explore the key psychological, biological, social and behavioural mechanisms through which these effects are achieved and consider how schemes such as Social Prescribing could help to bring arts and cultural engagement to populations who stand to benefit the most.
