Today we travelled from Chitkul to Nako. The Sangla Chitkul roads are in pathetic condition barring a few stretches. But once you touch NH 5, the roads are amazing and absolutely splendid to drive. At Chitkul, the weather was pleasant. Don’t expect much snow. Only a few patches here and there. Chitkul to nako drive took almost 5 hrs including all breaks. Between Chitkul to Nako, there were 3 petrol pumps. One in Sangla, 2nd in Kalpa crossing and the last one near Pooh. All the locations have good network connectivity, so card payment is available.
