“I Will Remember” is one of Toto’s less-known songs, from the 1995 album “Tambu” – which is a shame! It’s one of my favourites, a great melodic tune featuring Luke’s fantastic voice and a perfect piano – but what would everything be without Simon Phillips’ masterful drumming … see? This song requires quite a handful of coordination, but still it’s so much fun to play and groove along the melancholic lines. Whenever I play it, I dream away to the time a couple of years ago when I got the unique chance to meet master Simon himself – what an honour, one I will remember … Drums and film footage recorded in one take.
