An item from our concert, "Elvis the King" at South Yarra Senior Centre in Fawkner Park. Written by Roy Turk and Lou Handman in 1926, this song was adapted and recorded by the Carter Family in 1936. In 1950 it was revived by Al Jolson and his version was a big hit for Elvis Presley in 1960. I sang the Carter Family version, then Bob did Elvis’s cover, but without the talking parts.
