Axel sang this song for his Musical Interlude at Sunday's service of the Melbourne Unitarian Peace Memorial Church. Redgum was an Australian folk music group, who wrote and sang songs with social and political impact. Hugh McDonald, who wrote this song of the Australian bush, joined the band as violinist and singer after Chris Timms left. It was covered by John Williamson, who has been criticised for changing one word in the last line, thus losing the point of the song. Lyrics and chords: ........ C ...................
