West Malling Airfield - Panoramic view - December 1992

A view across West Malling airfield shot in 1992 when the first of the "T" Type hangars was being demolished. The remaining hangars came down fairly soon after although the larger "J" Type behind the control tower remained for a few years longer and became home to the gliders of 618 VGS until they left West Malling in 1994. For those who know the area the Asda store was constructed in virtually the same spot as this hangar. All that remains today is the control tower and the pill box which makes a brief appearance close to the the camera's vantage point as it pans around. No prizes for anyone spotting the deliberate spelling mistake in the film titles, unfortunately this was edited years ago and is now locked for eternity.
