In this episode of Vox Populi Roma, we visited the Monteverde neighborhood. We visited the Mercato de Calvi, which over the years has evolved from a traditional local market to a socio-cultural hub, integrating historic stalls with new street food and wine bars. Together with Andrea Alemanni, president of Roma Capitale's productive activities and trade department, we discussed the role of local markets and their transformation. Next to historic stalls like "L'orto di Cristiana e Oreste," stall no. 8 is Cacio e Pera, an old-school delicatessen where you can sample cheeses from all over Italy. Owner Matteo Pera told us about his business. Not just food, but also wine with Enoteca Santè, run by sommelier Alessandro Aveta.
