Sovereign Citizen Returns to Court! | Prosecutor Tries to BAN Her Sovereign Script!

When Sydney Lesley’s case returned to court, it began as a simple routine hearings but quickly became an in-depth examination of the law.  The arrival of new defense counsel forced the Court to deal with many motions pending before it, questions about discovery disputes and scheduling questions that needed to be addressed prior to the case going to trial. One of the significant developments during this hearing was the prosecutor's filing of a Motion asking the Court to prohibit the defendants from presenting arguments regarding their status as 'sovereign citizens in a potential future jury trial.  The Court carefully considered and analyzed all of the issues raised by the parties, allowed ample time for the defense to prepare, and scheduled additional hearings to address the many open questions of law. Although no verdict was reached at this hearing, there were many critical rulings that could influence the future of the case.  From continuances to discovery disputes and motions in limine to preparing for a future jury trial, the hearing provided an insightful example of how criminal businesses are managed before any trial starts.
