Sovereign Citizen Refuses to Remove His Hat in Court — Gets Sent to Jail

The case was not anything out of the ordinary until later in the session when an order was put forth by the judge to remove his hat; additionally, he said taking it off would affect him spiritually and he ultimately refused to remove the hat after receiving multiple ultimatums from the court. Throughout the hearing, the judge made it very clear about the ramifications of refusing to adhere to the order, offered several opportunities for the defendant to comply, and carefully recorded each of his comments. Eventually, the defendant was found to be in contempt of the court because of his continued refusal to comply with the orders of the court, and as a result, was sentenced to jail.
