✨My Accepted RISD Portfolio✨
How I finessed my way into one of the best art colleges??? My entire Illustration portfolio for the class of 2022! Looking back, I have no idea what I was thinking when I put this portfolio together. I had so many pieces I could've used, but instead I picked this mediocre stuff... RISD still liked it (a lot,, enough to give me a huge scholarship) so I guess it all worked out really well :) Also, I know that the audio sucks, I'm so sorry I tried something new and it failed :( I'm not trying to show off, I've worked really hard on not just this portfolio but my entire art career up to this point--- so uhhhh NOT TO FLEXXXXX OR ANYTHING Please ask me any questions you have about art college applications, my art, or just art in general :)) More info about me: ✨-I've been drawing since I was 3, taking professional classes since I was 6. ✨-I've won a plethora of competitions- probably what got me that scholarship ✨-I had a couple of leadership positions in high school such as the fencing captain, the french club president, and the National Art Honor Society president. I didn't just do art my entire life, I tried to branch out! Extracurriculars are important! ✨-I've taken a good amount of AP's, but I never overloaded my schedule. My personality is the type to want everything to be the best it can possibly be, so I've kept straight A's since I was in school in the first place. That means I ended with a 4.0 unweighted (4.4 weighted!)-- it didn't kill me to get it, just a lot of work. Don't push yourself TOO hard, figure out what college you wanna go to and find their standards and try to exceed those, saves you a lot of work. ✨--My SAT score is quite terrible (by my standards) because I simply didn't study very hard for it. The only thing I slacked on my entire high school career is my SAT lmao I know its important but I just couldn't push myself anymore. ✨-My commonapp essay was pretty good in my opinion, I tied in how I was bilingual and how art helped me learn a new language. I've heard that you shouldn't write about art when applying to art college (from RISD themselves) but who knows? Are you still reading?? lmao ✨Last video for your eyeballs:✨ • ALMOST IS NEVER ENOUGH COVER- Ariana Grande ✨Let's be friends! ✨ Instagram: @tifffnay Snapchat: tiffy_weng Also, I did use reference for many of pieces, but in my high school and art class that was encouraged-- i understand many people have different opinions on whether that is right or wrong, but I have recreated pieces with my skill level, and no one has ever told me not to. Although I no longer use references as heavily as I did in high school, I do admit that often times my pieces would be HEAVILY inspired,,, I'd just like to let everyone who has commented know that I have learned and grown, and I no longer do what I used to in high school obviously :) Things change, thats just how it be :) ✨✨Thank's so much for watching!✨✨
