Colmonoy® 88 increases service life of Debarking Knives by 50% using the Fusewelder™ Torch

Guess who’s back? Warren Lewis, Alloy Products UK Technical Manager, returns with another Fusewelder™ video. This time he’s spraying a debarking knife with Colmonoy® 88, a nickel-based hardsurfacing alloy, using the Fusewelder™ Torch. Debarking knives are used to remove bark from trees which then are used in the timber, paper and pulp industries. This customer found Colmonoy® 88 applied via Fuseweld™ Process gave 50% longer service life and 4x faster application than previous method. Efficiencies were also gained during final grinding stage due to accuracy of powder application. Safety Reminder! Fusewelder™ Torch should always be used in areas with adequate ventilation and extraction. For more, visit: https://news.wallcolmonoy.com/hard-su...
