Dirt Rally 2.0 Comprehensive Beginner's Guide: Menu Settings & Controller Setup

The first video will detail a few menu settings worth changing as well as setting up your controller to what's most comfortable for you. Turn off extraneous graphical FX: 0:20 Changes are minor but anything to help visibility. 'Replay mode' turns these features on in...replay mode. 2. Change Field Of View (PC Only) 0:35 If you are changing this for the first time, you will feel the game is going slower, but that's the whole point. An incorrect sense of speed will make you brake earlier and be more afraid of going faster unless you are truly fearless. That being said, you can still post fast times even if you don't change these values, it might just be a little harder. 3. Adjust Controller Settings 1:31 Ideally sensitivity/linearity would be set to 100/0 and any steering changes would be made in the tuning menu, the thinking being you can actually eke out more control out of your car by stiffening the steering somewhat. I do not recommend this for absolute beginners, especially those who are not yet comfortable steering with the controller. Lower sensitivity, then increase sensitivity, then tuning as your driving skills improve. 4. Turn Off Assists 3:52 Do not use automatic transmission, even from the start. Learning when to switch gears is essential to building an understanding of how to race cars. Clutch override lets you use the clutch while still in gear. I do not understand why this is considered an assist as you can do this in real cars. In cars with turbo lag, you practically need it to not lose power around tight corners.
