Operação em SP investiga fraude no ICMS com créditos falsos

The São Paulo State Government carried out Operation Distrato this Wednesday morning to dismantle a scheme involving the sale of fake ICMS (Value-Added Tax) credits used by companies to improperly reduce the tax owed to the State. According to the State Finance and Planning Secretariat (Sefaz-SP), the investigations identified 752 companies involved and indicate losses exceeding R$ 3.8 billion to public coffers. Among the targets of the operation is the law firm of Nelson Wilians, who is also being investigated for alleged involvement in INSS (National Social Security Institute) fraud.
