The 18 things from Europe that made it into my studio

As a collage artist, traveling changes how you shop. You're not looking for things to display — you're looking for things to use. In this video I take you through everything I brought home from three weeks in Europe: vintage papers, old postcards and letters, handmade ephemera, tarot cards, and a few surprising finds. Here's what's covered: 🇸🇰 Slovakia — Why vintage paper is so hard to find there (the answer involves communist-era history), and the few pieces I did track down, including a 1942 Hungarian calendar, a 1950 travel ID from Bratislava, and a vintage automobile picture book for two euros. 🇦🇹 Vienna — A warehouse charity shop, a tiny paper store, a bundle of 1928 postcards all written to the same person, Piatnik tarot cards, fish die cuts, and a textile piece I'm still deciding what to do with. 🎁 Gifts from the trip — A handmade cigar box filled with paper goodies from Barbara at 49dragonflies, a junk journal from my friend Pirjo, and a piece she found mud larking on the Thames that dates to the mid-1600s.
