Dr. Simpson is a Full Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Toronto and Research Chair in Forensic Psychiatry at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health. He has held key roles in numerous forensic organizations globally and serves on the Editorial Board of seven scientific journals. With over 140 peer-reviewed papers, a book, and several chapters, his research focuses on violence and psychotic illness, including its causes, criminal justice pathways, and therapeutic interventions. Dr. Simpson also contributes as an occasional columnist for the Globe and Mail.
