Oltre la sofferenza: problema e soluzioni

Beyond Suffering: Problems and Solutions Suffering is a warning light that tells us there's a problem. Suffering, however, is a nonspecific warning light; it's an indicator that something needs to be changed, because the system is out of balance. How is suffering related to the problem? And how can we find solutions to our problem, moving beyond suffering? First, to define the problem concretely and precisely, we need to distinguish necessary suffering from unnecessary suffering, thus providing a first indicator. Life changes, and we need to adapt. This adaptation requires effort, and we experience stress. Necessary suffering makes us grow, it makes us intelligent; in the search for solutions to the problem, we learn something naturally. Therefore, by facing problems, we grow, we learn, which means we evolve. Suffering, in fact, is instrumental to evolution. When we overlay necessary suffering with mental activity, judgments, and unfairness, we complain, we become stressed, and all this prevents us from growing. Suffering, therefore, is the warning sign of a PROBLEM. A problem is a disturbance in a system that prevents it from reaching optimal equilibrium. However, if there is a problem, there are solutions. We often think that solutions involve restoring the system to equilibrium (remedial solution: we fix something). But there is a rule in life: there is no going back. We must find a new balance. The solution is a new balance: life asks us to change something to seek a new functional equilibrium. Solution means modification; it means change. But there are obstacles. We often stop at suffering, unable to move beyond it: we complain and wallow, without even being able to identify the problem. When, however, we manage to identify the problem, we can run into another obstacle: we deny the problem. By not acting when we should. Or, we may act when we shouldn't. This creates conflict: we follow our own needs, completely oblivious to the other. Another obstacle is constantly reflecting on the problem: we begin to think about it, to search for causes, to want to understand how it works, to understand the whys. However, to overcome suffering, it is necessary to understand that human behavior has more than just one cause. The belief that if you find the cause, you find the solution is psychoanalytic, but it is a cultural concept with significant limitations and no basis in reality. Looking for causes in the past does not solve the problem, it does not provide guidance on how to solve it. If we don't change something in the present, there is no point in thinking about the past. To move beyond suffering, therefore, and find solutions to the problem, we must first define the problem. This means not looking for causes in the past, but seeing how the variables systemically influence each other. And often, by changing one variable, we change the entire system and arrive at a solution to the problem and, therefore, at the overcoming of suffering. #AntonioQuaglietta #Psychology #ProblemSolving =============================================================== *Sign up for my free video course 'Free Your Mind, Open Your Heart' here: https://www.relazioniamoci.it/risorse... *Visit my website: https://www.relazioniamoci.it/ *Subscribe to my channel: https://www.youtube.com/results?searc... *Follow me on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/Antonio-Quag... *Stay up to date on My courses: http://counselingstrategicorelazional... https://www.facebook.com/Accademia-di... *You can purchase my books here: ** https://www.amazon.it/Risveglia-vita-... ** https://www.amazon.it/Empatia-teoria-...
