Today I will be your guide to the official Lecoultre master compressor chronograph ceramic, 46 millimeters in black ceramic. This high -tech chronograph features a second time zone, a nearly indelible black ceramic case and a vertical clutch column wheel chronograph with manufacture automatic caliber. The best way to approach the watch is to start from the outside and work our way in. Beginning with the simple and elegant pin buckle, easy to adjust on the fly featuring polished flanks and brushed or satin finished hoods gives way to a double monotone stitched, technical fiber strap, technical fiber on the top and centrally bolstered soft and supple calfskin on the underside. The ceramic case rendered in a matte or subdued finish is virtually indelible. For practical purposes, it is hard as the sapphire crystal itself. It shrugs off most scratches and scuffs and unlike metal which has been plated or PVD deposited, it is a homogenous material such that even if you were to scratch it, it is black straight through. There is no metal to shine through. The time piece maximizes the use of its 46 millimeter diameter by expanding the dial out to the extremity. The watch features a joyous continence of cheerful blue accents, silver signatures, and a base of charcoal grey. Now there are three primary pieces of information available from this watch. Chronograph, hours, minutes, and seconds available from the chronograph with its three registers, local time, hours, minutes, and seconds including the date window and a remote time zone in which the polished trapeze hand is coordinated to the AM/PM or day/night indicator just below the marquee at twelve o'clock. Now, the watch features a compressor crown system that allows you to access all of the functions in terms of time setting with a single half turn. Far easier to access then a tight and sometimes difficult shouldered screw down crown, the Jaeger-Lecoutre patented compressor crown system even features a color code, blue arrows so think blue you are through or white you are tight and with the ease of that half turn the watch attains one hundred meter water resistance which the manufacture rates as sufficient for all activities save professional diving. Now on top of the dial, the indications given by the watch are beautifully spaced out, balanced, and discrete to the point that even the remote time zone indicator, the polished trapeze hand can be placed underneath the local hour hand superimposed for a cleaner aesthetic when a second time zone is not necessary. Of course, the day/night indicator cued to the second time zone lets you know whether or not you are about to make a 5:15 wake up call to friends when you in fact intend to call the remote time zone at 5:15pm. 5:15am, 5:15pm, it is a key distinction and one that you get with this second timezone. Now the watch features ten bar or one hundred meter water resistance by virtue of its robust case construction, its compressor crown, all of this incasing and protecting a manufacture caliber 757 automatic movement. Now the caliber 757 features a modern four hertz beat rate, 45 Jules nad three hundred pieces. It features a substantial free-sprung balance with a double laser welded hair spring for stability against shock-induced time variations. It features hacking seconds, pull the crown, stop the balance, synchronized to our reference time. There is a quick set for the date and most importantly the watch features a 65 hour automatic winding power reserve. When fully energized, the twin main spring barrels give the watch exceptional autonomy far beyond the industry standard of 42 hours. The control of the chronograph is highly refined featuring a column wheel for function selection which insures tactile excellence when the watch is being actuated but also insures that the seconds hand, thanks to the vertical clutch, starts without jump, stops without stagger and unlike the lateral clutch always resets precisely to the index at twelve. Now, it is also worth noting that with the vertical clutch, you can run the chronograph consistently. If you like to have center seconds correspond to center hours and minutes, simply keep the chronograph running. While it will draw down the main spring barrel energy faster, it will not pose any additional wear and tear to the movement as say a lateral clutch chronograph would. Of course, the watch features a broad array of technical proficiencies from the unique patented compressor crown system to the ten bar water resistance to the vertical clutch column wheel, 65-hour power reserve, and the dual time display.
