Chief Administrator of Sumadera Temple, Suma Ward, Kobe City. After graduating from university, he trained at the Denpo Gakuin (Daigoji Temple Dharma Academy) and Seikojin Seichoji Temple. He completed the Shikoku 88 Temple Pilgrimage on foot. He won the inaugural H-1 Grand Prix Dharma Talk Competition in Hyogo. He won the inaugural Sermon Grand Prix (Fuji TV). He appeared on NHK's "10 Monks" and TV Tokyo's "Quiz with No Right Answers." He hosts the "Radio Dharma Talk: Deep Breathing for the Soul" segment every Saturday on Radio Kansai. He has a monthly column in the Mainichi Shimbun's national edition, "Cultural Forest." He distributes Dharma talks on his YouTube channel, "Sumadera Temple Koike Yojin's Essays." His books include "Prescriptions for a Troubled Heart" (Kashiwa Shobo) and "Tracing Practice Book of the Heart Sutra for Regulating the Autonomic Nervous System" (Fusosha). "We Asked 10 Monks" (co-authored, Kodansha) Chief Administrative Officer of Sumadera Temple, a prominent temple in Suma Ward, Kobe City. After graduating from university, Younin underwent training at Daigoji Temple’s Denpo Gakuin and Kiyoshikojin Seicho-ji Temple. He successfully completed a walking pilgrimage to the 88 temples of Shikoku. Winner of the inaugural H-1 Grand Prix Sermon Competition in Hyogo and the first Sermon Grand Prix on Fuji Television. Contributes a monthly column to the “Forest of Culture” section in the national edition of the Mainichi Newspaper. Delivers sermons on the YouTube channel “Sumadera Koike Younin’s Essays.” Author of Prescriptions for a Weary Mind (Kashiwa Shobo), Prajna Paramita Heart Sutra Tracing Practice Book for Autonomic Nerve Regulation (Fusosha), and co-author of Asked 10 Monks (Kodansha).
