Korea’s First Indigenous RCP Motor for Nuclear Power Plants | Built with Proprietary Technology

HD Hyundai Electric has successfully developed Korea's first indigenous Reactor Coolant Pump (RCP) motor, a core rotating machine for nuclear power plants, marking a major milestone in strengthening the nation's technological self-reliance in the nuclear power industry. An RCP motor is a critical piece of equipment that drives the pump responsible for circulating coolant through a nuclear reactor. As one of the plant's core components, it must operate reliably under extreme conditions, including radiation exposure, high temperatures, and continuous 24/7 operation. Through approximately 41 months of joint development with Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power Co., Ltd. (KHNP), HD Hyundai Electric successfully developed an indigenous RCP motor, replacing one that had previously relied entirely on imports. Its reliable performance has also been validated through successful deployment at Hanul Nuclear Power Plant Unit 6 and Shin Wolsong Nuclear Power Plant Unit 1. This achievement marks a significant milestone in developing and deploying a key nuclear power component using Korean technology. Moving forward, HD Hyundai Electric will continue to strengthen the technological competitiveness of the nuclear power industry while expanding the development and supply of indigenous nuclear equipment. 🔗 Learn More About HD Hyundai Electric Motors https://www.hd-hyundaielectric.com/el... #HDHyundaiElectric #KHNP #KoreaHydroNuclearPower #RCP #RCPMotor #ReactorCoolantPump #NuclearPower
