FORTH BRIDGE PROGRESS

(24 Oct 1960) The mighty Forth Bridge, the railway bridge, has long been one of Scotland's most famous landmarks. The new Forth Bridge (to carry road traffic), is now well under way. It's being built a short distance up-stream from the old one, and it will be the largest suspension bridge in Europe, expected to be completed in 1963.
